Viola d’amore is an “extinct” instrument from the Baroque period. It has 7 strings, is tuned as a D accord, and has a corresponding number of resonance strings.
Percamore combines this instrument with a few percussion instruments – which lend the viola d’amore the sound of even more “resonance strings”.
However, this piece puts focus on both the force of the percussion: the noise, (for both instruments) and that of the viola d’amore: melody and resonance.
