Norwegian Children’s Rhymes

Norwegian Children’s Rhymes (Norske Barnerim) was inspired by a text written by Norwegian author André Bjerke.

He has a way of playing with the language that is very similar to that of Danish author Halfdan Rasmussen, and which is unfortunately impossible to translate.

The music  was written in a cheerful style – but still more like song than like for mutual singing. The songs are called:

• Snemannen (The Snowman)
• Fem samer sammen (Five Samis together)
• Alvene
• Fru Kobros hubro [ugle] (Mrs. Kobro’s hubro (owl))
• Bedrøvet fugl (Sad Bird)
