Echoes of Fragments may be taken literally: As an echo of the violin solo Dreamless Fragments. But there are more mirrors in this work than just one echo: A major part of the time, the violin solo lies in a very high register – including playing on the other side of the bridge – while , naturally, the double bass exploits the lower part of the interval which is audible to the ear.
Originally, the work was written for a concert with echoes, also including the use of the echo from a computer, but the piece may performed with or without digital interference.
