East Earth DrEaming

bass clarinet + electronics
Year of creation:
8 min.
Dedicated to/originally written for:
Fritz Berthelsen, contemporánea
About the work:

East Earth DrEaming – perhaps the strange title calls for an explanation: During the work with the electronic part of this piece, the arrangement of bass clarinet sounds constantly searched in the diection of the old Australian instrument, didgeridoo.  As the piece furthermore moves in large cyclic circles exactly like the original didgeridoo music, the Dreaming-title was hard to avoid. However, in this movement, there are no other references to neither the old Australian music, nor to what ended up sounding like an old tibetan overtone song.
