The Other Music in Another Way

Revitalization of the classical music in Esbjerg

DEN ANDEN MUSIK PÅ EN ANDEN MÅDE (2014-2015) is a one-year stipulated cooperation between the Esbjerg Ensemble, the Culture School in Esbjerg and 8 school classes from 4 schools in the Esbjerg local area. Initiators were Birgitte Antonius and Mogens Christensen.

Previously, Esbjerg had a very active classical music life with the Vestjysk Symphony Orchestra, large-scale recorder meetings, a local classical MGK (Music Basic Course), etc. This project is a go, together with some local classical actors in the area, at “pushing into action” more classical and new music again. This happens through various visits to schools and school concerts combined with a coordinated initiative on the part of Esbjerg Ensemble and the School of Culture ,with the aim of offering the selected school classes an impact as massive as possible with this type of music.

The finale took place at the Esbjerg Arts Museum, and in the foyer of the Esbjerg Music House, involving the classes in question, as well as Esbjerg Ensemble and the Esbjerg School of culture. People listened, watched and performed, even also members of the audience did.
