Sculpture Park

- Cross-artistic inauguration of Farum Sculpture Park

In August 1999, on a large lawn between the Farum Hovedgade (main street) and Farum Lake, 8 big stone sculptures were created as an open workshop for 1 Danish and 7 foreign artists:

  1. The Cloud by Yaël Artsi (Israel)
  2. Meditative Place by Jun-Ichi Inoue (Japan)
  3. Clair de Lune by Nicolas Bertoux (France)
  4. Earth Weaving by Tetsuo Harada (Japan)
  5. Vandvogteren (The Water Guard) by Jesper Neergaard (Denmark)
  6. Bulls by Kemal Tufan (Turkey)
  7. Playful Waves by Cynthia Sah (Hong Kong)
  8. Se ind i lyset (Look into the Light) by Pål Svensson (Sweden)

In order to root the works and the process that created them, part of the surrounding schools participated in a co-creative process letting the children/youngsters comment on and themselves create works through sound and movement. For the inauguration ceremony the pupils were placed together with musicians from Sjællands SymfoniOrkester (Copenhagen Phil) – in pouring rain – next to the respective sculptures, in order to give the passing audience have an artistic experience.

This project was a co-operation project between the Copenhagen Phil and the then Farum Kommune (Municipality)
